The Patriots are +600 to win Super Bowl 54, while the Titans are +700 to win the AFC South division.

Betting on the New England Patriots (1-0 Preseason)
Minus Tom Brady, who didn’t really need preseason games to get ready for another campaign, the Patriots avenged their 2018 loss to the Detroit Lions by destroying Matt Patricia’s squad on the road last week to the tune of a 31-3 score. Rookie Jarrett Stidham and veteran Brian Hoyer split up the quarterbacking duties. Stidham finished with 179 passing yards and a touchdown in 14-for-24 completions, while Hoyer went 12 of 14 for 147 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry had two catches for 36 yards, but exited the game prematurely with an injury. His status remains up in the air as of this writing but don’t be surprised if he’ll get ruled out for the rest of the preseason. The Patriots’ defense did their part in crushing the Lions, as New England recorded nine sacks which lost Detroit a total of 81 yards. If anything, that stat should scare the Titans into deciding not to play injury-prone QB Marcus Mariota in Week 2.
The Patriots are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games overall.
Betting on the Tennessee Titans (1-0 Preseason)
The Titans have a solid backup in the form of former Miami Dolphins starter Ryan Tannehill. With Tannehill, Tennessee is assured of a quality starter in case Mariota’s body breaks down. In his first taste of competitive action in Titans threads, Tannehill passed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 12-for-16 completions to lead Tennessee to a 27-10 road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Adam Humphries also made his debut for the Titans and caught four passes on six targets for 24 receiving yards. Kalif Raymond led the team with six receptions for 80 receiving yards. He was all over the field against the Eagles, as he also recorded 35 yards on punt returns and also had a 24-yard kickoff return. Tennessee needs to have a better pass rush against the Patriots after making just a sack in the Philly game.
The under is 2-0-1 in the Titans’ last three preseason games.
