Betting on the New England Patriots (odds)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
The Patriots will look to become the first team to beat Las Vegas this preseason. They are coming off a 20-10 home win over the Carolina Panthers, which came after a 23-21 home loss to the New York Giants in Week 1. Bailey Zappe had 173 yards with an interception on 16/25 completions against the Panthers but got plenty of help from the ground. The Patriots rushed 29 times for 126 yards and a touchdown (Ty Montgomery) in the Carolina game and dominated the yards battle with 375 yards of total offense to just 192 by the Panthers.
The Patriots are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games in the preseason.
Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (odds)
Regular Season Record: 3-0
Las Vegas is humming in the preseason, as it collected its third win in a row with a 15-13 takedown of the Miami Dolphins on the road last Saturday. Prior to that, the Raiders beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Hall of Fame Game, 27-11, and the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 1, 26-20. Jarrett Stidham passed for 80 yards on 7/10 completions, while Brittain Brown rushed for 70 yards on nine carries. Brown and the Raiders’ rushing attack was fantastic in that contest, coming up with 144 rushing yards and a touchdown (Zamir White) on 25 carries.
The Raiders are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games in the preseason as well.
