Betting on the New England Patriots (-1.0)

The Patriots stopped a two-game losing skid by beating the Arizona Cardinals on prime time last Monday on the road, 27-13. New England’s backfield and defense paved the way for the team’s victory, with the Patriots scoring two rushing touchdowns while taking advantage defensively of a mostly Kyler Murray-less Cardinals offense. That defense has always been stout, however, as New England is, in fact, fifth in the NFL with just 18.4 points allowed per game. New England can disrupt the flow of the Raiders’ offense that often trips on itself because of undisciplined play (28th in the league in penalties per game).
The Patriots are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against teams from the AFC.
Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (+1.0)
Regular Season Record: 5-8
The Raiders were on the verge of collecting their fourth win in a row, but Baker Mayfield happened. Las Vegas collapsed in Week 15’s Thursday Night Football 17-16 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The Raiders will just have to forget about it and move on and think about the positives they’ve done over the past few weeks – like winning three games in a row. The Patriots are a beatable team in part because they don’t have an offense that is hard to keep up with. New England might even play without one of their most important players on offense in running back Rhamondre Stevenson due to an injury. Meanwhile, the Patriots have arguably the best tailback in the game today in Josh Jacobs, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown versus the Rams.
The Raiders are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning record.

The Raiders win, 26-23.
