Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (odds)
Regular Season Record: 2-0
The Raiders fed off a good showing from their offensive line to go 2-0 in the 2022 NFL preseason after a 26-20 in Week 2 over the Minnesota Vikings at home. With their pass protection and run-blocking units answering the call, the Raiders were able to muster 300 yards from scrimmage, including 140 on the ground. The Raiders’ offense might even perform at a higher level this coming Saturday, considering that Miami’s defense allowed nearly 400 total yards to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. The Raiders allowed four sacks to Minnesota, but they got the job done when it mattered the most, going 8/17 on third downs and 2/2 on fourth downs. Conversely, Las Vegas’ defense allowed Minnesota to go just 1/7 on third downs.
The Under is 4-1 in the Raiders’ last five games overall.
Betting on the Miami Dolphins (odds)
Regular Season Record: 1-0
As expected, the Dolphins did not play plenty of starters in Week 1 against the Buccaneers, but they still came away with a 26-24 victory over the Tom Brady-less Bucs. Skylar Thompson was the only quarterback who played for the Dolphins in that game and that continue to be the case for him after he went 20/28 for 218 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. Lynn Bowden Jr. attracted attention when he grabbed a touchdown to go with 55 receiving yards on three receptions and four targets. Special mention should also go to Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders, who drilled all four field-goal attempts against the Buccaneers, including one from 53 yards out. He could be the x-factor for Miami this Saturday.
The Over is 4-0 in the Dolphins’ last four Saturday games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Dolphins win, 21-17.
