When Reavie won last year’s edition of the Travelers Championship by four strokes, he instantly became richer by $1.296 million. The champion of the tournament this year will take home more than that, as the total purse is now thicker by $200,000. Since 2012, the total purse for the Travelers Championship has gradually gone up. The first time it hit the $7 million mark was in 2018, when Bubba Watson pocketed $1.260 million. With the dizzying amount of money to be won in this event, it’s easy to forget the fact that it started with just $15,000 in purse total back in 1952.
