Betting on the LA Clippers (odds)

Regular Season Record: 40-19

After seeing their seven-game win streak get snapped in a 106-103 road loss to Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, the Clippers returned to their winning ways and decimated the Minnesota Timberwolves at home on Sunday to the tune of a 124-105 score. All five starters scored in double figures for the Clippers. Paul George led the way with 23 points, while Kawhi Leonard almost had a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists. The Clippers can get hot again this Tuesday against the Blazers’ Swiss cheese defense that is allowing 114.7 points per game. The Clippers have defeated Portland twice already this season and in those games, they averaged 130.5 points on 50.5 percent shooting from the field and 43.0 percent from deep.

The Clippers have won their last five games against Portland, dating back to 2019. They also covered the spread in all those games.

Betting on the Portland Trail Blazers (odds)

Regular Season Record: 32-24

Things are not looking good in Portland of late. The Trail Blazers are 3-6 straight up in their last nine games and 1-3 over their last four games. In their most recent outing, the Blazers lost to the Charlotte Hornets on the road last Sunday, 109-101. It’s not helping the Blazers that Damian Lillard hasn’t been around over their last few games because of a right hamstring issue. It’s possible that he’s going to miss this game against the Clippers. If that would be the case Tuesday night, Portland will look for CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, and Derrick Jones to step up and cover for the absence of Lillard. Portland is also hoping that Robert Covington would rebound from a pathetic zero-point output in the loss to Charlotte. Portland has averaged 107.8 points over its last five games.

The total has hit the under five times in the Trail Blazers’ last six games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

The Clippers win, 125-115.
