Betting on the Chicago Bulls (ODDS)

Regular Season Record: 35-38

After suffering a 116-91 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers last Wednesday, the Bulls roared back and demolished the Portland Trail Blazers in a 124-96 road win over the weekend. Back in the win column, the Bulls look forward to having the same form when they the Clippers for the second and last time this season. Chicago lost the first meeting with the Clippers late last January at home, 108-103. This time, though, the Bulls will face an LA team that is missing Paul George, so that’s one less major problem for Chicago’s defense which is still regarded as among the good ones in the league. Chicago is a top-10 team in the NBA so far this season in terms of scoring defense.

The Bulls are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Clippers.

Betting on the Los Angeles Clippers (ODDS)

Regular Season Record: 39-36

The Clippers got tripped up by the New Orleans Pelicans in a 131-110 loss at home last Sunday. Los Angeles shot 52 percent from the field against the Pels, but did a bad job at securing the ball, as the Clippers committed 19 turnovers. Bones Hyland had five turnovers while Russell Westbrook had four. With George sidelined by injury, the Clippers will be seeing guys like Hyland and Westbrook have increased touches, so both players will have to be extra careful with the leather — or they can just let Kawhi Leonard have the ball most of the time. Leonard, who went just 4/16 from the field for 12 points in the New Orleans game, can always be trusted regardless of how salty he shot in the previous contest. He is still averaging 25.7 points per game on 58.8 percent shooting from the field this season while also making 43.8 percent of his shots from deep. He had 33 points with just a turnover in the January win versus Chicago. Still, watch out for his status after he got hurt in the Pelicans game.

The Clippers are 4-3 against the spread in their last seven home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Clippers win, 115-108.
