FAVORITES
Jon Rahm (+900)
Still in search for his first win of the season, the 27-year-old Rahm has nonetheless been showing out this season. Rahm is 5 of 6 with three top 10s on the season and is coming off a T21 in the Genesis Invitational. He did not participate in the Honda Classic after that tournament but that’s not going to hurt his value. He is currently the season leader in greens in regulation percentage and SG: OFF-THE-TEE, and in driving distance – all drives, too.
Rory McIlroy (+1400)
McIlroy hasn’t been very active yet this season, as he has made only three starts so far and only one this year – an appearance at the Genesis Invitational in which he finished with a T10. Regardless of his activity this season, McIlroy is definitely a man to watch in Orlando this week. He is a perfect 7 of 7 with five top 10s at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge. That includes his win there in the 2018 edition of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Viktor Hovland (+1500)
Ranked fourth in the world right now, Hovland will look to impress golf fans further when he swings this week at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, where he’s a perfect 3 of 3 in his career. He is also 5 of 6 this season with a win in the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba back in November 2021. The last time he’s seen action, he finished with a T4 in the Genesis Invitational in early February.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Paul Casey (+4000)
Casey is barely being felt in this season of the PGA TOUR, as he has only made three starts, so far. But that doesn’t mean he’s inactive either, as he’s been busy taking his talents overseas. He is 7 of 7 in his past seven worldwide starts, which includes a T12 in the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic and a T9 in the DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP DUBAI.
Cameron Tringale (+5500)
Tringale is 8 of 11 this season, but he’s been quite of an enigma. He has three missed cuts in his past six starts but has not missed cuts in consecutive fashion during that stretch. Moreover, in the other starts in which he made the cut, he finished strong, going T7, T3, and T13. In other words, he’s become a boom or bust player, albeit one who’s worthy of a look from sleeper hunters.
LONG SHOTS
Matt Wallace (+17500)
Wallace has missed the cut in both of his last two starts but is 3 of 3 in his career at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, including a solo sixth in 2019.
Lucas Herbert (+17500)
Herbert is 5 of 7 this season, but is 0 of 2 in his last two starts. He’s got a win, though, having topped the Butterfield Bermuda Championship back in October 2021.
Writer’s Prediction
Viktor Hovland wins the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
