FAVORITES
Webb Simpson (+1000)
After missing the cut at the 2022 US Open, Simpson rebounded with a strong performance at the 2022 Travelers Championship, where he finished with a T13 by going 10-under 270. Simpson is still without a win this season, but he’s got a top 10 and four top 25s. He’s also made the cut 11 times in 15 starts.
Adam Hadwin (+1400)
Hadwin skipped the 2022 Travelers Championship, but the last time we saw him in action, he was busy putting together a strong performance at the 2022 US Open, where he finished with a T7. He is now 4 of 4 in his last four starts and has five top 10s and eight top 25s in 21 starts this season, thus far. Hadwin hasn’t competed at TPC Deere Run since 2016, but he’s got a top 10 and a top 18 in two career starts there.
Sahith Theegala (+1800)
It’s really time to stop overlooking Theegala, who is having a fantastic rookie season. He is 20 of 25 so far with five top 10s. Last week, he settled for a T2 at the 2022 Travelers Championship. He now has a pair of top 5s in his previous three starts, which includes the T5 he finished with at the 2022 Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Adam Svensson (+4000)
Here’s what we said about Svensson in our 2022 John Deere Classic sleepers preview:
Ranked 100th overall with 355 FedExCup points, Svensson will look to continue riding his momentum. He has made the cut in his last five starts, including a T25 at the 2022 Travelers Championship and a T21 at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open. This mild streak came after getting cut back to back at the 2022 Mexico Open at Vidanta and the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship, so Svensson might have turned the corner. Svensson also has a pair of top 10s this season with a T7 at the 2022 Sony Open in Hawaii and a T9 at the 2022 Honda Classic.
John Huh (+5500)
Here’s what we said about Huh in our 2022 John Deere Classic sleepers preview:
Huh is on some kind of a roll, having gone 3 of 3 in his last three starts. He cracked the top 25 in all of them and the top 15 in two, finishing with a T12 at the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge and a T13 last week at the 2022 Travelers Championship. On the season, Hugh is 11 of 9 with six total top 25s and a top 10, which was a T9 at the Honda Classic back in February.
LONG SHOTS
Brice Garnett (+15000)
Ranked 311th in the world, Garnett has missed the cut in three of his last four starts. He’s got a top 10 though this year, with a T7 at the 2022 Puerto Rico Open.
Greyson Sigg (+15000)
Sigg struck out in all his previous five starts. His best finish this season to date was a T22 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. He’s also got a pair of T25s at the Corales Puntacana Championship and at The American Express.
Writer’s Prediction
Sahith Theegala wins the 2022 John Deere Classic.
