Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (+3.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-0

The Raiders seem ready to make a big leap in 2022. They traded for superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, which is already a huge addition to Las Vegas’ offense. Adams’ ability to stretch the field and dominate defenders downfield is nearly unmatched over the past four seasons, and even though he’s no longer catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr isn’t too shabby either of a quarterback. Furthermore, they are very familiar with each other, having been college teammates before turning pro. The defense also got a boost with defensive end Chandler Jones coming to Sin City as well as the likes of cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and safety Duron Harmon.

The Raiders are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games in Week 1.

Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-0

The Chargers did not make the playoffs in the 2021 NFL season, but they are going to be a force to reckon with this year. With Justin Herbert powering the offense from under center and a stud running back in Austin Ekeler plus a still very dependable vet downfield in wide receiver Keenan Allen, the Chargers should be fun to watch – and terrifying to face for the rest of the league. Last season, the Chargers were fifth in the NFL with 27.9 points per game, Their defense held them back, but adding a monster pass rusher in Khalil Mack and cornerback J.C. Jackson and linebacker Kyle Van Noy should greatly improve the team’s stop unit.

The Chargers are 7-1-2 against the spread in their last 10 games in Week 1.
