The Sixers are simply too much for Brooklyn. They are making the Nets look like more of a lottery team than a playoff unit so far in the series. In Game 2, the Sixers had Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey taking turns in punishing Brooklyn. Embiid scored 20 points with 19 rebounds and seven blocks. Harris had 20 points and 12 boards, while Maxey dropped 33 points with six 3-pointers. Philly is also feeding its offense in the series with extra possessions off its dominance on the glass. In Game 2, the Sixers had 56 rebounds to just 33 by the Nets. It’s looking like a sweep for the Sixers, judging from the first two games. Philadelphia is also 3-0 against the spread in its last three games at Barclays Center.
Betting on the Brooklyn Nets (+5.0)
Regular Season Record: 54-28
It’s not the end of the world yet for the Nets. Despite looking overmatched through two games in the series, Brooklyn is showing some fight, thanks to the pair of Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. What the Nets need ASAP is ample support from the other guys like Nic Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Seth Curry. So far in the playoffs, Bridges is putting up 25.5 on 54.5 percent shooting from the floor, while Johnson is generating 23.0 points on 60.0 percent shooting from the field. The Nets have won four of their last six home games. The Under is 6-4 in those 10 contests.
Writer’s Prediction
The Sixers win, 115-102.
