Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers (+10.0)
Regular Season Record: 54-28
The Sixers are coming off a long rest, as they took care of business in the first round the fastest way possible. Philly demolished the Brooklyn Nets in just four games in the first round, and the extra days of rest is beneficial for big man Joel Embiid. However, Embiid is viewed as doubtful for the series opener versus the Celtics due to a knee issue, so that’s one thing to watch out over the side of the Sixers. Still, the Sixers have plenty of great offensive weapons to fall back on like James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris.
The Sixers are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six games overall.
Betting on the Boston Celtics (-10.0)
Regular Season Record: 57-25
The Celtics needed six games to turn away Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. As expected, the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown shined the most for Boston in that series. Tatum averaged 27.2 points and 10.0 rebounds in the Hawks series, while Brown put up 26.7 points on 54.1 percent shooting from the field through six games versus Atlanta. Apart from Tatum and Brown, the Celtics also have the likes of Derrick White, Marcus Smart, and Malcolm Brogdon, who each can deliver a little bit of everything for the Celtics, who are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games versus a team with a winning record.
Writer’s Prediction
The Celtics win, 109-106.
