[sc:Football ]Five High-Value Fantasy Football Pick-Ups for NFL Week 2
1) Allen Hurns (Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars)
[sc:NFL240banner ]Allen Hurns made the most of his opportunity with Cecil Shorts III out injured as he surprised not only Jaguars fans but fantasy football owners across the globe. The undrafted rookie of the Jacksonville Jaguars became just the second receiver in NFL history to score touchdowns on his first two catches as he finished the day with four catches, 110 yards and two touchdowns.
With the Jaguars facing a Redskins defense that looked out-of-sorts in Week 1 next, expect Hurns to provide big numbers once again.
2) Justin Forsett (Running Back, Baltimore Ravens)
With Ray Rice still out for Week 2, Justin Forsett looks to be a great pick-up for fantasy owners especially with the way he performed on opening day. Many expected Bernard Pierce to step up in Rice’s absence in Week 1 but it was Forsett who stole the show rushing for 70 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown.
He had five more carries than Pierce in their 23-16 defeat to the Ravens and it will be interesting to see whether Forsett will be the one starting in Week 2.
3) EJ Manuel (Quarterback, Buffalo Bills)
Entering the new season, uncertainty surrounded quarterback EJ Manuel as fans started to question whether the 24-year-old was really the right man to lead the Buffalo Bills after a highly-disappointing preseason campaign.
He responded to his critics in the best possible manner by delivering a solid performance on the field as he led the Bills to a stunning 23-20 upset of the Chicago Bears in Week 1. He completed 16-of-22 passes for 173 yards with a TD and an interception and will be an interesting option for fantasy owners as their QB2 heading into Week 2.
4) Chris Ivory (Running Back, New York Jets)
Chris Ivory had a monster performance against the Raiders, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. His 71-yard touchdown run was the longest scoring run in Jets history and surprisingly was the Jets’ first rushing score since 2011 that was longer than 20 yards.
If you want touchdowns from your team, Ivory is your guy.
5) Terrance West (Running Back, Cleveland Browns)
With Ben Tate out with a knee injury, rookie Terrance West stepped up to the plate as he racked up 100 rushing yards on 16 carries in his debut against the Steelers. With Tate’s status for the game against the Saints next week still uncertain, West may be asked to lead the Browns backfield next week.
West is coming off a stellar year for Towson where he rushed for 2,509 yards and 41 touchdowns in his junior year – both Football Championship Subdivision records.
