2015 RBC Heritage Sleeper Picks, Predictions, Odds, and Golf Betting Preview

A new star was born at Augusta last week when Jordan Spieth went wire-to-wire to grab his first ever major title. With such a dominant display in one of the toughest tests in golf, it’s no surprise that he is the man to beat in the 2015 RBC Heritage tournament this week.

Make no mistake about it, though, Spieth will have his work cut out for him in this prestigious $5.9-million event. Read on below as we list down three high-value sleeper picks who we think can pose the main challenge to the newly-minted world no. 2.

2015 RBC Heritage Sleeper Picks and Predictions

Where: Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina

When: April 16-19, 2015

Patrick Reed

[sc:Golf240banner ]Jordan Spieth may be grabbing all the headlines right now but we must not forget the accomplishments of another young Texan in the field this week. Of course, we’re talking about Patrick Reed who’s having a spectacular season in the PGA Tour this year.

He has finished in the top-10 in three of his nine starts this season, including a victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions last January. Powering Reed’s success this year has been his incredible scrambling skills. He is second in the PGA Tour in this department with a 67.95% clip. That will come in handy in navigating the brutal 7,101-yard, par-71 course.

Zach Johnson

One golfer who’s primed for a breakthrough win this season is Zach Johnson. The 39-year-old has played some incredible golf this year, finishing in the top-10 in four of his nine starts. That includes a ninth-place finish at the Masters last week, his best finish at Augusta since winning the green jacket back in 2007.

Key to Johnson’s strong play this year has been his accuracy off the tee. He is 21st in the PGA Tour in driving accuracy with 68.56% of his drives finding the fairway. That is a major asset here at Harbour Town which is not your typical bomber’s course. Look for Johnson to shoot some low scores in this tournament and be in contention this coming weekend.

Brandt Snedeker

He may have missed the cut at the Masters last week but that doesn’t take away the great strides Brandt Snedeker has made with his golf game this season. Coming off the worst season of his career, not much was expected from Snedeker this 2015 season. He proved the critics wrong, though, grabbing the tournament win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am last February.

Apart from his improving form, what makes Snedeker such a threat this week is his vast experience in this event. He has already won here before, lifting the title back in 2011. Trailing by six shots heading into the final round, Snedeker fired a sizzling seven-under-par 64 to beat Luke Donald in a playoff. Expect Snedeker to bounce back strongly this week and be in the hunt for his second RBC Heritage title.
