Game Preview
The Houston Texans finally had their big break, taking their third win of the season against the Miami Dolphins 20-6 in Week 8. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins shined with 94 yards and a score on eight catches. He should be able to give quarterback Brian Hoyer a solid target in a possible encore of Week 8’s 273 yards passing and three touchdowns.
[sc:NFL240banner ]The Hoyer-Hopkins duo should be able to exploit a Cincinnati passing defense, which is middling in the league with 244 yards allowed per game. While Hoyer could get the passing game going, defensive end J.J. Watt will be hard-pressed to beat a solid Cincinnati offensive line which has allowed just 11 sacks all season long. Watt ranks second in the league with 8.5 sacks this season.
Assuming that the offensive line remains strong amidst pressure from one of the best pass rushers in the league, quarterback Andy Dalton may be able to continue his excellent season. Dalton expertly dissected Cleveland’s defense for 234 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 9 Thursday Night Football 31-10 victory.
All three of Dalton’s touchdown passes were caught by tight end Tyler Eifert. The two should be able to connect against a Houston passing defense which has allowed 16 passing touchdowns this season, fifth-most in the NFL.

Hot Wager
Week 10 is just about the time that the Texans find their stride. With Brian Hoyer and DeAndre Hopkins forming a solid duo in the passing game, Houston should be able to show enough offense to avoid being blown out in this game. The bye week helps as the Texas are 3-1 ATS after a bye. The Bengals have been playing out of their minds recently, and are due for a bad game. While Cincinnati may have enough weapons to win, they may fail to cover the -11 spread.
