Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (+5.5)
Regular Season Record: 10-5
Arizona is losing games at the worst time. The Cardinals are now on a three-game losing streak after losing to the Indianapolis Colts at home in Week 16, 22-16. Poor play from the special teams and penalties hurt Arizona in the Colts game, with Matt Prater missing kicks and the team getting called for 11 penalties. If anything, at least those mistakes can be ironed out quickly, and the Cardinals hope that those issues don’t emerge on Sunday against the Cowboys. Kyler Murray passed for 245 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 27/43 completions against the Colts, while Chase Edmonds had 56 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Help could be on the way for Arizona with touchdown factory running back James Conner perhaps returning from injury. Arizona is 10th in the NFL with 26.3 points per game.
The Cardinals are 17-6-3 against the spread in their last 26 games as a road underdog.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-5.5)
Regular Season Record: 10-4
Week 16 was like a walk in the part for the Cowboys, who crushed the Washington Football Team in a 56-14 home win Sunday. Dallas has now won four games in a row. The Cowboys are red-hot, and that’s not just on offense. Their defense deserves plenty of recognition, as the Cowboys have allowed just 20 points in their last two games and an average of 14.3 points during their current win streak. The Cowboys own a seventh-ranked defense that is allowing 20.5 points per game on the season. They are tough to get past through on third downs, with opponents completing just 31.22 percent of their attempts in such situations. The tandem of Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs has been excellent all season long. Don’t be surprised to see both players making a huge impact against Arizona.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cowboys win, 26-23.
