Betting on the St. Louis Cardinals (+1.5)

Regular Season Record: 25-35

The Cardinals are on a three-game losing skid after getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates in a series that ended with a 2-1 St. Louis loss on Sunday. Adam Wainwright can be the cure for the Cards’ troubles as he makes a start later tonight. The veteran pitcher is 2-1 with a 6.15 ERA and 1.71 WHIP through five starts this season. At the plate, the Cardinals will rely on Nolan Gorman and Paul Goldschmidt. The Cardinals are 4-0 in their last four interleague road games versus a team with a winning record

Betting on the Texas Rangers (-1.5)

Regular Season Record: 38-20

The Rangers continue to pace the American League West with a 38-20 record – 3.5 games ahead of everyone else in the division. They also boast of a massive +152 run differential – easily the best in the entire Major League Baseball. Martin Perez will be toeing the rubber tonight for the Rangers, who are also 19-8 at home this season. Perez is 6-1 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.54 WHIP through 11 starts this year. He’s been benefiting from a healthy Texas offense that features Marcus Semien l, who is batting .318 with nine home runs and 18 doubles, so far.

The Rangers are 5-0 in their last five interleague home games versus a team with a losing record.

Writer’s Prediction

The Rangers win, 8-4.
