Seattle has won three of its last five games and has also won in seven of its last 10 outings. The Mariners, who are 4-0 in their last four games against rivals in the American League West division, will have Luis Castillo on the mound this Friday. The Rangers remain on top of the American League West division even after their 3-2 loss last Wednesday to the Detroit Tigers during the conclusion of a three-game series that they still won, two games to one. On the mound for Texas this Friday will be Jon Gray, who has been dependable this year. He is fresh off an incredible May in which he went 4-0 with a 1.95 WRA in five starts. Included in those starts was the Rangers’ 2-1 win over Seattle on May 8 in which he allowed just an earned run on four hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings. He has a 5-1 record with a 2.81 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 2023.
The Rangers are 7-0 in their last seven games after a loss.
