Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks
The losing woes continue for the Arkansas Razorbacks as they were handed their third-consecutive defeat on Saturday night, falling 28-21 against the No.14 Texas A&M Aggies. They couldn’t pull off the necessary plays and stops when they needed to, while also failing to keep up with second-year quarter back Kyle Allen. Allen went 21-of-28 for 358 yards with two touchdowns, the second being the game-winning 20-yarder to Christian Kirk in overtime.
[sc:NCAA240banner ]That loss was definitely tough to swallow for the Hogs, who squandered an eight-point lead in the final period to ultimately allow Texas A&M to tie and win the game in the extra period. But crying over spilled milk won’t get them anywhere, as they need to already start shifting all of their focus for a bounce back win against their next opponents—the Tennessee Volunteers—this coming Saturday.
In order for the Razorbacks to avoid a fourth-straight loss, they ought to take advantage of Tennessee’s shaky secondary defense, which currently ranks third-worst in the SEC this year with 236.7 receiving yards allowed per contest, through their efficient passing game that’s averaging 9.7 yard per catch through three games, the third-highest in the conference.
Expect senior quarterback Brandon Allen and junior wide receiver Drew Morgan to be the main keys to success on offense.
Allen completed 20-of-25 passes for a total of 225 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Hogs’ loss to the Aggies on Saturday. Morgan, meanwhile, finished with a 155 yards on eight catches with a touchdown in the same game. He will definitely be looking to build on that performance in their clash and continue to get his touches once again with WR Keon Hatcher (foot) still out of the lineup against the Vols on Saturday.
Also, a lot of pressure will be on the Razorbacks’ defense to continue defending well against the ground versus Tennessee’s rushing game that accumulates 246.0 yards per contest thus far this season.
Arkansas is 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS in its past five road games.

Betting on the Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers, who were considered as contenders to win the SEC East, continue to have a rough start to their 2015 campaign. They lost out to their division rivals, the Florida Gators, who handed them their second loss on Saturday, 28-27. The win marked the Gators’ eleventh-straight victory against Tennessee and their fourth consecutive win on the year.
It was undeniably another heart-breaking setback for the Vols, who failed to protect a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter that eventually allowed quarterback Will Grier and Antonio Galloway to connect for the game-winning 64-yard touchdown for the Gators. Moreover, they even blew their final chance for victory when kicker, Aaron Medley, missed twice from 55 yards with three seconds remaining in the ballgame.
With tough games against Georgia and Alabama on the horizon, the Vols will be in desperate need a morale-boosting win in their next game against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.
That being said, the Vols should continue capitalizing on their formidable ground game which has already registered 738 yards after four games—the third-most in the Southeastern Conference.
A huge reason for this has been their running back in Jalen Hurd, who’s rumbled already for a total of 402 yards with seven touchdowns this year. However, it’s going to be a very difficult task for Hurd to find gaps between Arkansas’ front seven that has done well against the rush, giving up just 3.65 yards per carry this season.
Tennessee is 6-4 SU and ATS in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Vols (-6) bounce back with a 34-24 triumph.
