In today’s Best Games To Bet On, the NBA and MLB will share the spotlight with one another. The action begins at the BMO Harrison Bradley Center, wherein the playoff-seeking Chicago Bulls go head-to-head with the Milwaukee Bucks for a matchup with big playoff implications for the Bulls.

Later on at Kauffman Stadium, the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals kick off their respective 2016 campaigns against one another. Who will rise above the occasion and start off the new season on a good note?

Let’s now take a brief look at these two matchups. And while you’re at it, check out our previews of the two other games in the MLB’s Opening Day: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks (7:30 PM ET)

Line: Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks – view all NBA lines

The Bulls really need this win tonight at Milwaukee. Their postseason hopes are slowly fading right now with five losses in the past seven games (3-4 ATS). The latest one came against the visiting Pistons last night, during which the Bulls wasted a triple-double performance (28, points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists) from Jimmy Butler, who has now had back-to-back 20-point games.

For the Bucks, meanwhile, they are currently in 11th place in the East and are likely bound to miss the playoffs. But even so, it’s safe to expect that this team’s going to try to play spoilers tonight against the visiting Bulls. Milwaukee has won six of its previous 10 home games, going 5-4-1 ATS in that stretch.

Writer’s Prediction

Chicago wins and manages to cover the spread by a slim margin.

Matt Harvey looks down after being relieved in the ninth frame against the Kansas City Royals

Revenge is surely on the minds of the Mets, who bowed down to Kansas City in last year’s World Series, in this season-opener. They are putting their trust on Matt Harvey to help them start off their 2016 campaign with a bang. Harvey went 13-8 with a 2.71 ERA and 1.02 WHIP through 29 starts in 2015. He also made four postseason starts last season, which included two games with Kansas City. In that short stretch, he logged in a total of 14 innings and surrendered five earned runs.

Speaking of Kansas City, the defending champions will be countering with Edinson Volquez, who posted a 13-9 mark and an ERA of 3.55 last season. Volquez, however, has had his shares of struggles against New York throughout his career. He holds a 5.70 ERA, a 1.83 WHIP and a .292 opponents’ batting average across nine starts in this matchup.

The over is 3-0 in New York’s last three games. The Royals, meanwhile, are 8-2 SU in their previous 10 home games.
