Line: St. Louis Cardinals (-102) at Milwaukee Brewers (-108); total: 8.0 – view all MLB lines
The St. Louis Cardinals look to extend their three-game lead at the top of the NL Central when they face their division rivals Milwaukee Brewers later tonight.
[sc:Other240banner ]Michael Wacha (5-5, 2.79 ERA) will make his first start for the Cardinals since mid-June after recovering from a right shoulder injury. The 2013 NLCS MVP will replace the struggling Justin Masterson in the starting rotation but he will be limited to only 60 pitches in his first game back after a two-month absence.
He will face a Milwaukee Brewers team that is struggling mightily at the moment. They have lost their last eight games as they have fallen three games back in the NL Central race. They will send Wily Peralta (15-9, 3.82 ERA) to the mound to stop the losing rut but just like the Brewers, the right-hander appears to be losing steam at the worst possible time.
He has lost his last two games, allowing a total of 13 earned runs on 16 hits in just eight innings of action against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants.

Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals (-102) will pile more misery on the Brewers and extend their losing streak to nine.
Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks (8:30 PM ET)
Line: Green Bay Packers (+6) at Seattle Seahawks (-6); total: 47.5 – view all NFL lines
For the Seattle Seahawks, the time for partying is finally over. Seven months after winning Super Bowl XLVIII in devastating fashion, they return to the field eager to prove that they are no one-hit wonders.
They will once again rely on a defense that was best in the league last season. They were no. 1 in terms of opposing passing yards (172.0 per game) and total opponent yards (282.8 per game) in 2013 with Richard Sherman (48 tackles and eight interceptions), Kam Chancellor (99 tackles and 3 INTs) providing the backbone for the Seattle defense.
The Legion of Boom will have to be wary of Aaron Rodgers who is desperate to make up for lost time after suffering a collarbone injury last season. He threw for 2,536 yards in just nine games last season as he compiled a passer rating of 104.9, his lowest mark in three years. He will have some support this year though with Eddie Lacy emerging as one of the league’s premier running backs last season rushing for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013.

Writer’s Prediction
The Seahawks (-6) will cover the spread and win the game by double-digits.
