[sc:MLB240banner ]After taking care of business in the first two games at home, it’s now Kansas City’s turn to play as the road team in the World Series later tonight.

On the mound for the AL champions is Yordano Ventura, who is making his fifth start this postseason. Ventura isn’t having a particularly great postseason, as he’s just 0-1 with a 5.09 ERA in his previous four starts. The Mets, on the other hand, will send Noah Syndergaard AKA Thor to the mound for Game 3 of the World Series.

Syndergaard is having a better October than Ventura, as the long-locked hurler has a 1-1 record and a 2.77 ERA in three starts thus far this postseason. He picked up a loss in his recent start, though, giving up three earned runs on eight hits in six plus innings of work in a 5-2 loss to the Dodgers on October 10. Kansas City is 5-1 in Ventura’s last six road starts, while New York is 8-2 in Syndergaard’s last 10 at home.

Writer’s Prediction

New York (-133) wins, 3-2

James Harden

It wasn’t that long ago when the Warriors mopped the floor with Houston in last season’s conference finals. The two teams meet again later tonight, when Steph Curry and crew pay the Rockets a visit for Golden State’s first road game of the season.

Curry let the rest of the NBA know who the reigning MVP is when he dropped 40 points in the Warriors’ 111-95 demolition job of the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday to kick start Golden State’s defense of its title. The Rockets, on the other hand, didn’t begin as expected, as they lost to Denver on Wednesday, 105-85. James Harden, who averaged 27.4 points per game last season, led Houston with 22 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists.

Golden State is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 road games, while Houston is 4-1 ATS in its last five at home.

Writer’s Prediction

Golden State (-1.5) wins, 105-102.
