Line: Memphis Grizzlies (-4) at Chicago Bulls (+4); total 184.5 – view these lines
[sc:NBA240banner ]It’s going to be a special night when the Gasol brothers face each other for the second time this season. Pau has been rejuvenated after making the move to Chicago this season. He’s averaging 18.3 points (his most since 2010-2011) and a career-high 12.1 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Marc is scoring a career-high 18 points per game in one of the West’s best teams, Memphis.
The two also happen to have their respective excellent supporting casts. Pau has Nikola Mirotic averaging 21.4 points per game in his last five, while Marc has Jeff Green chipping in 16 points per game in his last three.
Chicago is 3-1 SU/ATS in its last four games as a home underdog of four points or less.
Writer’s Prediction
Chicago’s young guns give Pau enough support to keep this game close. Take the Bulls to cover +4 at home.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs. San Jose Sharks (10:00 PM ET)
Line: Pittsburgh Penguins (-120) at San Jose Sharks (EVEN); total 5.5 – view these lines
The Pittsburgh Penguins have not tasted victory in San Jose since 1997, going 0-10-1 in their eight-year winless streak. But with the way they’ve been playing recently, they can put an end to their losing rut. Marc-Andre Fleury has been fantastic between the pipes going 5-1-1 with a 1.13 GAA, including three shutouts, over his last seven road starts. He currently leads the league with nine shutouts.
Pittsburgh isn’t too shabby at the frontline either. Patric Hornqvist has been lights out in the Pens’ California trip, netting three goals across back-to-back wins against Anaheim and Los Angeles. Still, the Sharks will be tough to beat. Antti Niemi is 3-1-1 against Pittsburgh despite a 3.11 GAA, while Joe Pavelski has five points in his last four at home.
The Sharks are 1-9 in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Pens (-120) break out of their funk at San Jose.
