Line: New Orleans Saints (-3) at Carolina Panthers (+3); total 49.0 – view these lines
The New Orleans Saints are 0-4 in road games this season, but may finally break that streak when they visit the Carolina Panthers tonight. The Saints are fresh off a dominant offensive display against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Quarterback Drew Brees completed 27 of 32 passes for 311 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, while running back Mark Ingram shone, posting a career-high 172 yards and a score on 24 carries.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 24th in scoring at 20.9 points per game, and were poor in red zone execution in their previous home game against the Seahawks. They managed to score on two field goals in three red zone attempts. On the other side of the ball, they have struggled against the pass, allowing 777 yards in their past three games. Something that will come into play against Brees’ strong arm.
Writer’s Prediction
The Saints (-3) record their first road win of the season.
New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (8:00 PM ET)
Line: New York Knicks (+11.5) at Cleveland Cavaliers (-11.5); total 198.5 – view these lines
Running new head coach Derek Fisher’s triangle offense, the New York Knicks struggled in their opener, as they shot 36.5 percent. Carmelo Anthony had 14 points after averaging 27.4 points per game last season.
The Knicks won’t get a reprieve tonight as they face the Cavaliers’ Big 3 of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in Cleveland tonight. James was a thorn on the Knicks’ side last season, averaging 32.8 points on 63.8 shooting in four games. Irving also gave the Knicks headaches, averaging 30.3 points and 7.3 assists in three games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Knicks continue to struggle with the triangle offense, as the Cavaliers win a blowout.
