San Francisco Giants vs. Kansas City Royals (8:07 PM ET)

Line: San Francisco Giants (+128) at Kansas City Royals (-138); total 7.0view these lines

[sc:MLB240banner ]Madison Bumgarner had another stellar start as he shut out the Royals in a complete game Sunday. Jake Peavy takes the ball tonight to try and seal the deal. Peavy was tagged with five runs in five innings before being pulled out of Game 2. However, the Giants starter may benefit from hot bats at the plate for some much needed run support. Gregory Blanco, Joe Panik, Buster Posey, Hunter Pence and Pablo Sandoval hit .447 over the past two games.

However, the five Giants batters hit only .250 against Kansas City rookie Yordano Ventura. The Royals starter limited the Giants to two runs on eight hits pitching over five innings in a 7-2 win in Game 2. Meanwhile, the excellent bullpen trio of Kelvin Herrera, Wade Davis and Greg Holland combined for three scoreless innings of relief. You can view the complete preview of this game here.

The Royals force a Game 7.

Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs (8:00 PM ET)

Line: Dallas Mavericks (+4.5) at San Antonio Spurs (-4.5); total 205.5view these lines

Dirk Nowitzki

The Dallas Mavericks made some noise this offseason. They nabbed Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton from the New York Knicks, and signed Chandler Parsons to a three-year, $46 million deal. Parsons was a pivotal cog in Houston’s offense last season averaging 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and four assists per game. Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki should make his veteran presence felt inside the paint after averaging 27.1 points and 6.2 rebounds last season.

The Mavericks open their season with a tough matchup against the reigning NBA champions, the San Antonio Spurs. The defending champions will miss Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard due to an eye infection. Leonard averaged 17.8 points on 61 percent shooting in the Finals and was LeBron James’ primary defender. He averaged 12.6 points on 42 percent shooting, 2.6 assists, two rebounds, and 1.6 threes in 28 minutes in the final five games of the preseason.

Nevertheless, the Spurs will be confident heading into this match as they are are 9-1 SU in their last 10 games against the Mavericks at AT&T Center dating back to January 2012. Check out the complete preview for this game here.
