Best Games to Bet on Today: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers & Kansas City Royals vs. Los Angeles Angels – October 3, 2014

The MLB Postseason continues with four games set for today, including the series opener between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Los Angeles Dodgers.  This game features two of the majors’ best pitchers with 20-game winners Clayton Kershaw and Adam Wainwright. Over at the American League, the Kansas City Royals look to push the Los Angeles to the brink of elimination, the same intention the Baltimore Orioles have when they meet the Detroit Tigers later in Game 2 of their own American League Division Series.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (6:37 PM ET)

Line: St. Louis Cardinals (+170) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-200); total: 5.5 – view these lines

[sc:MLB240banner ]The last time the Cardinals faced Clayton Kershaw in a postseason game, St. Louis got the better of the 2013 National Cy Young Award winner. In that game, the Cards scored seven runs off Kershaw on their way to a lopsided 9-0 win.

Nevertheless, Kershaw remains a formidable figure on the mound, as he comes into tonight’s matchup following a terrific regular season wherein he put up a 21-3 record and a 1.77 ERA. The Cards will counter Kershaw with Adam Wainwright, whose last five starts have all translated to St. Louis wins. Wainwright had a spectacular September, going 5-0 in five starts to go along with a 1.38 ERA.

Writer’s Prediction

New series, same old story. Cards beat Kershaw and the Dodgers.

On the mound tonight for Kansas City is Yordano Ventura, who is coming off a brief relief job in the AL Wildcard Game wherein he gave up a three-run homer against the Oakland A’s. However, that doesn’t diminish his accomplishments in September, where he went 4-1 with a 2.41 ERA. As for the Angels, they’ll give the ball to the streaking Matt Shoemaker, who has a 7-0 record and an ERA of 1.29 over his last eight starts.

Writer’s Prediction

The Angels win to even the series, 1-1. Create a betting account now, and don’t miss to bet on these two big games.
