[sc:MLB240banner ]On the mound for the Rays later tonight is emerging star, Chris Archer. So far this season, Archer has a record of 5-4 and an ERA of 2.12. In his most recent outing, Archer tossed eight scoreless innings but unfortunately received a no-decision in the Rays’ 3-0 loss to the Mariners on May 27. Last year, Archer went 2-0 with an ERA of 2.31 in two starts opposite the Angels. Los Angeles, meanwhile, will counter Archer with veteran C.J. Wilson. The lefty enters tonight’s ball game carrying a 3-3 record and a 3.18 ERA. The Angels are 8-2 in Wilson’s last 10 home starts.

LA (-112) wins, 6-3.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Francisco Giants (10:15 PM ET)
Line: Pittsburgh Pirates (-105) vs. San Francisco Giants (-105); total: 7.0– view all MLB lines
A.J. Burnett is arguably the best pitcher right now in the majors, as evidenced by his impressive 5-1 record and 1.81 ERA. He’s picked up a win in each of his last five starts. He didn’t look so sharp, though, in his previous start, wherein he allowed four runs on eight hits over five plus innings in the Bucs’ 11-5 win over San Diego on May 28. The Pirates are 4-1 in Burnett’s last five road starts. The Giants, on the other hand, will have Chris Heston (5-3, 3.82 ERA) as their starter later tonight. Heston was flat out sensational in his last start, as he pitched seven plus scoreless innings and allowed just four hits in the Giants’ 7-0 win over Atlanta on May 28. The Giants are 3-1 in Heston’s last four home starts.
Writer’s Prediction
San Francisco (-105) wins, 4-2.
