Toronto is on a defensive slump having allowed 12 goals in its past seven games. Nevertheless, Toronto will have something going for them as star striker Jermain Defoe (11 goals) will be returning from injury. Defensively, they are still set to struggle with team captain Steven Caldwell out with a quad tear and center back Doneil Henry suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

The team has a deep roster that continues to win games even without start striker Fabian Espindola (seven goals and eight assists) due to a knee injury. Midfielders Nick DeLeon and Perry Kitchen had two goals apiece in a 2-1 road win against Toronto, while forward Eddie Johnson and midfielder Luis Silva scored three goals in United’s last two games. United is 3-1-1 in its last five games.
D.C. United’s form will be too much for Toronto to handle. Expect United to go over 2.5 as Toronto’s defense continues to struggle.
Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10:10 PM ET)

The Atlanta Braves were poor down the stretch as they let the Los Angeles Dodgers make a late run last night in an 8-4 loss. The Braves look to rebound by starting Alex Wood (7-8, 3.44 ERA). However, the Braves have been disappointing, going 1-3 in Wood’s four starts in July.
On the other hand, the Los Angeles Dodgers will try to put a winning stamp on their three-game series against Atlanta. The Dodgers are coming on the heels of excellent hitting as well as starter Zack Greinke (12-6, 2.74 ERA), coming off a seven-inning scoreless performance against the San Francisco Giants. Los Angeles is 4-1 in its last five games.
