Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs (8:30 PM ET)
Line: Oklahoma City Thunder (+9) vs. San Antonio Spurs (-9); total: 211.0 – view all NBA lines
Both teams are seeking to bounce back here. OKC’s coming off a double-digit loss in Cleveland, while San Antonio’s fallen in its last two games, including an unexpected home loss to Dallas on Sunday night. Despite that, the Spurs are in better position to rebound as they’ve won eight of their last 10 home games (7-3 ATS). They’ve also won the last seven home games versus the Thunder. But nothing is sure when going up against the league’s triple-doubles leader in Russell Westbrook. He’s averaging 30.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists in this month of January.
Writer’s Prediction
San Antonio (-9) wins but can’t cover.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Portland Trail Blazers (10:00 PM ET)
Line: Charlotte Hornets (+3) vs. Portland Trail Blazers (-3); total: 214.0 – view all NBA lines
Charlotte blew out the Trail Blazers about two weeks ago at the Spectrum Center to deliver the first blow in the regular-season series. Kemba Walker paced the Hornets there, finishing with 23 points and five assists while shooting 8-of-14 from the field. But can he carry his team to the same result as the visitors and against a revenge-seeking Portland group that plays a lot better at home? The Trail Blazers, prior to Sunday night’s 113-111 loss to Golden State, have won five of their last seven games at the Moda Center. They went 4-3 ATS during that stretch.
Writer’s Prediction
Portland (-3) wins and covers.
