TV Broadcast: ESPN

Betting on the Boston Celtics (-13.0)

Regular Season Record: 47-21

The Celtics are winning again. After a recent three-game losing skid, Boston has won back-to-back, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers (115-93) at home last Wednesday and then the Atlanta Hawks (134-125) on the road last Saturday. Jayson Tatum is playing at MVP levels of late. In the Hawks game, he had a monster double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds. With just Houston ahead, Tatum and the Celtics should be able to continue cooking. The Rockets have one of the worst defenses in the NBA, allowing 118.5 points per game. When Boston beat the Rockets at home last December, 126-102, Jaylen Brown ah 39 points, while Tatum had 38, with the entire Celtics team sinking 20 3-pointers. Life is way easier for any offense when it’s the Rockets playing defense.

The Celtics are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games versus Houston.

Betting on the Houston Rockets (+13.0)

Regular Season Record: 15-52

After winning two games in a row at the expense of fellow lottery-bound team San Antonio Spurs, the Rockets are back to their losing ways, having lost all their three outings since. The last one was at the hands of the Chicago Bulls at home last Saturday, 119-111. The Rockets are going nowhere this season but the lottery, but they can still put up a fight versus the Celtics. Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are both electric youngsters who can get hot and be pretty hard to stop when they get into a rhythm. Green leads the Rockets with 21.7 points per game, while KPJ is second on the team with 18.5 points per outing. Aleperen Sengun is a future cornerstone of the Rockets and he’s showing why almost every game. The talented big man is averaging 14.7 points on 55.5 FG%, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per contest.

The Over is 6-4 in the Rockets’ last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Celtics win, 121-103.
