They will have their work cut out for them, tonight, though, as standing in their way in the final four are two-time champions Germany. The Germans booked their place in the semifinals with a heart-stopping 5-4 penalty shootout win over France on Thursday in Montreal. Germany tops the goal-scoring charts in this year’s World Cup with 20 goals to its name in this tournament.

The Cubs will look to get their season back on track when they take on the streaking New York Mets in the opening game of their three-game set. Starting for the Cubs tonight is Kyle Hendricks (2-4, 4.46 ERA). He is 1-3 with a 5.88 ERA over his last five starts, losing back-to-back outings for the first time in his career.
The Mets, on the other hand, will counter with left-hander Jonathon Niese (3-7, 4.12 ERA). The Mets have lost seven of their last eight games with Niese as their starter. Niese is 0-5 with a 5.87 ERA in his last eight outings for the Mets.
