Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks (7:30 PM ET)
Line: Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks – view all NBA lines
Detroit’s on a two-game run (2-0 ATS) right now, with the latest being an easy victory over the visiting Thunder on Monday night, 104-88. The Pistons won that game on both ends of the floor, limiting their opponents to shoot below 40 percent from the field while receiving a total of 77 points from their starting unit. Leading the way was Tobias Harris, who racked up 22 points and six boards. On average, he’s collecting a team-high 17.0 points per game this season.
The Knicks, meanwhile, are coming off a bounce-back win over the Mavs, 93-77, which ended their two-game slide. Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis carried most of the load, finishing with 24 points apiece and 18 boards combined. New York also got an unexpected boost off the bench from Justin Holiday, who pitched in a season-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting. The Knickerbockers are 3-2 SU and ATS in their last five home games.
Writer’s Prediction
New York wins, 109-105.
Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (8:00 PM ET)
Line: Houston Rockets (+1) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (-1); total: 217.5 – view all NBA lines
In a nutshell, this game is going to be showdown between two of league’s unstoppable scoring machines: James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Both have been doing basically everything for their respective teams.
Harden is averaging 30.3 points and 12.6 assists per game, while Westbrook is posting 32.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.9 dimes a contest.
The winner of this game, though, will likely be the Rockets, who also have the sharp-shooting trio of Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson, all of whom are scoring double-digits this season, to surround Harden with options.
Yes, Westbrook’s been an awesome one-man show, but his recent efforts haven’t resulted into wins for his club. OKC has lost its last four contests (1-3 ATS) and two of its last three (1-2 ATS) at home.
Writer’s Prediction
Houston (-4.5) wins, 114-105.
