Betting on the Miami Heat (+6.5)

Regular Season Record: 44-38

The Heat drew first blood in this series as they walloped the Knicks last Sunday, 108-100. Apart from a 1-0 lead, that win also meant that Miami has now won all of its last four games in the playoffs. The Heat closed out their first-round matchup versus the Milwaukee Brewers with three consecutive victories. Jimmy Butler led the Heat in Game 1 of the Knicks series with 25 points, though, he hurt his ankle in the fourth period. His status for Game 2 should be monitored and checked out just before tip-off on Tuesday.

The Heat, who are averaging 121.3 points so far in the playoffs, are 4-0 against the spread in their last four outings.

Betting on the New York Knicks (-6.5)

Regular Season Record: 47-35

The Knicks are still fine. Losing a series opener leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for New York, but the good thing is that the second round has only just begun. Another home game is coming right up for the Knicks with a chance to even the series before heading to South Beach. Julius Randle could be back in Game 2 after missing Game 1 with an ankle injury, but if he can’t give it a go, the Knicks will likely start Obi Toppin again. Toppin scored 18 points with eight rebounds in the series opener for the Knicks, who outrebounded Miami, 48-39.

The Knicks are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Knicks win, 110-104.
