Best NHL Teams to Bet on – November 6

Colorado is on a mean streak that speaks to the team’s ability to block out off-ice issues and rather put more focus on winning. Then there are the Ducks, who return home after a lengthy road trip. Even bad teams are giving bettors some nice wins such as the Flames and Sabres, as both are killing it in the Totals.

Top 5 NHL Teams to Bet On:

Team Trend
Vancouver Canucks 3-1 in last 4 road games
Buffalo Sabres 1-5 UNDER in last 6 road games
Calgary Flames 6-1 OVER in last 7 games overall
Anaheim Ducks 5-0 in last 5 home games
Colorado Avalanche 6-0 in last 6 games overall

5. Vancouver Canucks

Trend: 3-1 in last 4 road games

Next Games: @San Jose, @Los Angeles, @Anaheim

Ryan Kesler, Vancouver Canucks, NHL

A west coast trip is on tap for the Canucks who sit in fourth place in the Pacific division with a 10-5-2 record. If they can win all of their next three games, then they stand a good chance of inching closer to the top of the standings. The Canucks will be in San Jose on Thursday before heading to Los Angeles and Anaheim for back-to-back games on the weekend.

The Canucks have won three of their last four road games.

4. Buffalo Sabres

Trend: 1-5 UNDER in last 6 road games

Next Games: @Los Angeles, @Anaheim, vs. Los Angeles

Buffalo is a mess right now. The Sabres, who are in a rebuilding phase, are at the bottom of the Atlantic division with only seven points – worst in the NHL. Their offense stinks too, averaging a measly 1.6 goals per game, which is dead last in the entire league. Not helping is their defense that keeps the Sabres’ net on a steady diet of pucks, giving up 3.1 goals a game.

The Sabres will make for a great practice team for their next two opponents – the Kings and the Ducks. Both games are going to be on the road, where the Sabres have gone 1-5 UNDER so far this season.

3. Calgary Flames

Trend: 6-1 OVER in last 7 games overall

Next Games: @ St. Louis, @ Colorado, vs. San Jose

Reto Berra, Calgary Flames, NHL

Unheralded Swiss goalie Reto Berra stepped in between the pipes for Calgary in his NHL debut facing the defending champions Blackhawks last Sunday. Surprisingly, it worked for the Flames who eked out a 3-2 OT upset victory. That game went UNDER but not before five straight games of the Flames going OVER in the Totals.

Calgary is 29th in the league in Goals Against allowing 3.4 goals a game. The culprit being their weak goaltending, primarily composed of the duo of Joey MacDonald and Karri Ramo. Both goalies have played for a combined 13 games and have allowed 43 goals against.

Meanwhile, Berra’s win against Chicago appeared to be some sort of rookie’s luck as he got peppered in his next start by Minnesota’s offense, which dealt the Flames a 5-1 loss.

The Flames’ defense will be in for a hellish three-game stretch with all of their next three opponents ranked inside the top 5 of the league in scoring.

2. Anaheim Ducks

Trend: 5-0 in last 5 home games

Next Games: vs. Phoenix, vs. Buffalo, vs. Vancouver

Anaheim’s mettle was heavily tested over their lengthy eight-game road trip. During that stretch, the Ducks went 5-3 despite suffering a slew of injuries, losing veteran Teemu Selanne and Jakob Silfverberg, among others. It should be refreshing for the team to be back at the Honda Center where the Ducks will make a three-game home stand. Anaheim is undefeated at home this season, going 5-0 on home ice.

The Ducks have all beaten the Coyotes, Sabres, and Canucks in their most recent meetings.

1. Colorado Avalanche

Trend: 6-0 in last 6 games overall

Next Games: vs. Nashville, vs. Calgary, vs. Washington

It’s going to take more than a serious off-ice legal case to slow down the rampaging Avalanche under Patrick Roy. Colorado has a Central division best 24 points despite playing in just 13 games – that’s two games less than second place Chicago.

The Avalanche are on a tear, winning all of their last six games. Colorado is fourth in the league in goals per game (3.2). Forward Gabriel Landeskog has been superb lately for the Avs, compiling five points in their last three games.
