The Washington Huskies have themselves a bittersweet moment coming for them, with head coach Chris Peterson announcing his decision to step down from his post once the Las Vegas Bowl game against the Boise State Broncos is over. Will the Huskies win one for Petersen before he goes, or will the Broncos own the night in Sin City? Going into this Saturday evening’s game, the sportsbook favors the Huskies by 3.5-points.

Betting on the Boise State Broncos (12-1 Overall/8-0 Conference)
Boise State nearly finished the regular season with a spotless record if it weren’t for a stumble against the BYU Cougars last October. The Broncos started the season like a house on fire, winning all of their first six assignments before hitting a wall in the BYU game. Since then, the Broncos ripped off another set of six consecutive wins, including one over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (31-10) at the Mountain West title game on Dec. 7. The Broncos have a quality offense that is among the elite in the nation in terms of raw scoring production with 36.2 points per game — 13th overall. Boise State can be unstoppable because this team knows how to get over the third down. The Broncos are 10th nationally in third-down conversion percentage.
The Broncos are 3-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last four games.
Betting on the Washington Huskies (7-5 Overall / 4-5 Conference)
The Huskies have been inconsistent for the most part this season, but that also means they can show up with a fantastic performance on any given day. Take for example their 31-13 win over the Washington State Cougars on Nov. 29 at home to keep the Apple Cup in Seattle for at least another year. Although Washington has had disappointing losses along the way this season, some were very close against ranked opponents. They lost to no. 12 Oregon Ducks by just four points and to no. 9 Utah Utes by only five points. The Huskies feature a sturdy and effective offensive line that the Broncos will have a tough time getting through. The Huskies’ defense is also stout, with only 21.0 points allowed per game –20th in the nation.
The Huskies are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Huskies win, 37-27.
