Betting on the Boston Celtics (TBA)
The Celtics went wild on threes on Friday but still failed to beat the Toronto Raptors on the road in a 101-94 defeat.
Boston made 17 threes on 42 attempts with Avery Bradley chipping in five treys. Bradley and big man Al Horford led the Celtics with 19 points apiece and it looks like both will have to carry most of the offense again for Boston later tonight with leading scorer Isaiah Thomas still out due to a groin injury. Bradley and Horford are averaging 17.9 PPG and 15.3 PPG thus far this season, respectively.
The Celtics should see their offense click once again versus an OKC team that doesn’t look spectacular defensively. The Thunder allow 103.1 PPG. That said, Boston needs to control the board because the less time the ball is on the hands of Russell Westbrook, the better for the Celtics, who are just 24th in the league in rebounding with 42.4 RPG.
Boston is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 road games.
Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder (TBA)
Russell Westbrook clearly has no chill. The dynamo of a guard has been borderline cartoonish this season, putting up video-game numbers and averaging a triple double thus far this season. He’s been on a scorching streak of triple-double performances stretched to seven games after pounding out 27 points, 10 rebounds, and assists, albeit in a 102-99 loss to Houston on Friday.
Westbrook, who is averaging 30.9 PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 11.3 APG, will look to extend that incredible binge to eight games later tonight against Boston, which should have problems bottling the Thunder, especially inside the paint.
For one, OKC is the best scoring team in the shaded area, where the Thunder are making 50.3 PPG. And with Boston missing Thomas and really not getting much from Marcus Smart as Thomas’ top replacement in the starting unit, it’s not a stretch to think that the Celtics wouldn’t be able to keep in step with OKC on offense. The Thunder are seventh in the league with 107.0 PPG.
Oklahoma City is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games.
