Betting on the Brooklyn Nets (odds)
Regular Season Record: 43-22
The Nets have now lost two games in a row after losing to Milwaukee last Sunday on the road, 117-114. Despite the loss, Kevin Durant’s greatness was undeniably on full display, as he dropped 42 points on 16-33 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds in 40 minutes. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving managed to score 20 points but on a much saltier 8-21 shooting. Irving has what it takes to bounce back with stronger performance, but what the Nets also would like to see is a better contribution from Joe Harris, who only had five points on 2-7 shooting in the loss to Milwaukee. With a full day of rest before taking on the Bucks again and no back-to-back sets this week, Durant and Irving can be counted upon to play on Tuesday, for the Nets, who have averaged118.0 points on 47.8 percent shooting from the field in their last 10 games. Brooklyn beat the Bucks back in January, 125-123, at home.
The Nets are 2-1 against the spread in their last three road games.
Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (odds)
Regular Season Record: 40-24
The simplest way to explain why the Bucks beat Brooklyn last Sunday is through two words: Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak countered everything Durant threw at the Bucks and finished with a game-high 49 points on 21-36 shooting from the field. He also had a much more efficient sidekick in Khris Middleton who had 26 points on 11-21 shooting. The Bucks are among the few teams which can keep up with Brooklyn’s offense. Apart from Antetokounmpo and Middleton, they also have another star in Jrue Holiday, who scored 18 points in the win over Brooklyn Sunday. In fact, the Bucks are No. 1 in the NBA with 119.3 points per game and fifth with 1.177 points per possession. They are also shooting 39.2 percent from behind the arc — second-best in the league.
The Bucks are 3-0 against the spread in their last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bucks win, 123-120.
