Betting on the Chicago Bulls (+10)
Regular Season Record: 46-36
The Bulls are getting outclassed staight up by Milwaukee. In Game 4, the Bulls shot just 38.9 percent from the field. DeMar DeRozan put up 23 points but was just 8/20 from the field and 0/5 from deep. Props to DeRozan for trying to take outside shots, but it’s just not his game. He will have to pick his usual spots and leave the 3-point shooting to the others, which could also be the case for Nikola Vucevic, who scored just 11 points on 5/14 shooting and 1/6 from deep. The Bulls also took another punch to the gut with an apparent injury to guard Alex Caruso. The former Texas A&M Aggie is currently being observed for a possible concussion which might leave him on the sidelines for Game 5. If can’t go, Coby White needs to show up with expected rise in minutes.
The Bulls are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games as a road underdog.
Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-10)
Regular Season Record: 51-31
The Bucks are having little problems disposing of Chicago despite the absence of Khris Middleton in the last two games. They are weathering the absence of Middleton thanks in large part to the fantastic job of Grayson Allen as a surprise factor for the Bucks. Allen scored 22 points in Game 3 and one-upped that performance in Game 4 by dropping 27 points coming off the bench. Milwaukee’s outside shooting and size are problems Chicago are having so much problems solving. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis are playing big minutes together on the floor, and that’s without cutting much from the team’s ability to shoot threes. All three can drill shots from deep, and in Game 4. As a team, Milwaukee went 17/33 from behind the arc in Game 4. In the series, the Bucks are making 37.8 percent of their threes to just 28 percent by the Bulls.
The Bucks are 11-4-1 against the spread in their last 16 first-round games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bucks win, 111-106.
