The Cubs send Keegan Thompson to the mound this Tuesday, as they look to come back to life following a 4-0 road loss to the San Francisco Giants Monday. It’s becoming more and more obvious that this is a lost season for Chicago, which will be among the teams to watch out for ahead of the 2022 MLB trade deadline. Thompson, meanwhile, will try to do his job after a successful start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 26. In that game, Thompson pitched for 7.0 innings and allowed zero runs and only four hits. On the season, Thompson is 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA in eight total appearances on the road.
