There are two big games in CPBL baseball this Friday April 24th. We’ve already provided our betting preview for the Rakuten Monkeys vs the Uni-President Lions, so now we move on to the other highly anticipated matchup between the Chinatrust Brothers and the Fubon Guardians. Both teams have losing records so far this season (it’s still early) and are pretty evenly matched. Even though the Guardians have already taken two wins off of the Brothers in April the sportsbook has trust in Chinatrust to take the first game of the three game weekend series. Will they deliver?

Betting on the Chinatrust Brothers (-165)
2-5 Regular Season Record
The Chinatrust Brothers are coming off of losing a two-game series against the Rakuten Monkeys, sort of. Yes, they lost the first game of the series 3-2, but that was a small victory in itself in that they kept the 2019 Champions to just 3 runs (Rakuten averaged 10-runs per game at the time). They were in the middle losing their second game on Thursday with a 4-1 deficit when the gods intervened. Heavy rains poured on to the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium field and the game was called, with no official loss being logged for the Bros’ who are fighting through a losing record.
The Brothers lost twice to Fubon over a week ago, with final scores of 3-1 and 7-6 respectively, but they are actually favorites coming into this Friday’s game against the same opponent. According to SofaScore, the odds are 1.57 in favor of of the visiting team. The Chinatrust Brothers actually win 65% of games with these odds. The sportsbook prices the Brothers at -165 to win while their spread is set at -1.5 with a price of -115.
Cuban professional baseball player and recent acquisition Ariel Miranda is expected to start on the mound for Chinatrust.
Betting on the Fubon Guardians (+135)
3-4 Regular Season Record
The Fubon Guardians are coming off of a loss to the Uni-Lions on Tuesday, giving up 9 runs to their 5. Otherwise all other losses this season have come at the hands of the undefeated Rakuten Monkeys, putting Fubon is in the same company as the rest of the league. They beat the Chinatrust Brothers twice this month so are probably scratching their heads as to why the Brothers are favored at the sportsbook for this Friday’s game. Perhaps someone knows something in Vegas, but it may be because of the unpredictable pitching of Henry Sosa who is expected to start against Chinatrust. If you recall, Sosa “caused” a bench clearing brawl last weekend, so his anticipated presence here on Friday adds even more interest to the game. The Guardians are the underdog, priced at +135.to win.

The Chinatrust Brothers get a much needed victory, winning 5-3.
