The Chinatrust Brothers are second best in league standings although they are a mile behind 1st place Rakuten Monkeys. The played a three game weekend series against Rakuten where they won the first game 6-4, but dropped the next two 3-6, 4-5 respectively. On the Mother’s Day the Brothers rallied with 3 runs in the seventh inning but they couldn’t add another to even things up.
Now they face the Fubon Guardians. Their most recent meeting with the Guardians was a 3-game series which Fubon won 2-1. The last two games of the series were close, but the first game was a big win for Chinatrust as they got shut out the Guardians 11-0. The Brothers went on an offensive tear with 21 hits and will be looking for more of that coming into this Wednesday’s meeting. Cuban Ariel Miranda who was responsible for the shutout is expected to start as the pitcher against Fubon, although he will be doing so with just one day’s rest.

The Fubon Guardians are 3rd in the four-team league standings, and are coming off of a 10-2 loss to the Uni-Lions on Sunday before enjoying a day off before meeting rival Chinatrust. Pitcher Chen Hung-Wen is expected to start on Wednesday. He pitched against the Brothers in their April 26th game where Fubon won 5-4.
