Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (+3.0)
Regular Season Record: 2-2
If not for their defense, the Bengals would be in a much worse place than they are in right now. The Bengals have allowed just 15 points to each of their last two opponents and are currently eighth in the NFL with just 17.5 points surrendered per contest. They are particularly stout against the run, giving up just 85.8 rushing yards per game, which is fourth-best in the league, thus far. That’s comforting to know for Cincy fans ahead of Week 5’s meeting with Baltimore’s top-10 rushing attack.
The Bengals are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games after a win.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (-3.0)
Regular Season Record: 2-2
The Ravens collapsed in Week 4, as they allowed Josh Allen and the Bills to score 20 unanswered points which melted Baltimore’s double-digit lead at the half. In both of Baltimore’s losses this season, the Ravens had held a lead of 17 points or more. In any case, it shows that the Ravens can get hot quickly, and could bend and break defenses almost at will. It’s all about sustaining their form. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are third in the NFL with 29.8 points per game and fourth with 6.2 yards per play.
The Ravens are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games after a loss.
Writer’s Prediction
The Ravens win, 27-23.
