After suffering back-to-back defeats, the Cavaliers got back on their feet and racked up two straight victories against the Detroit Pistons and the Denver Nuggets. Against the Nuggets on Wednesday, LeBron James was in his usual MVP-form, going off for 39 points on 15-for-25 shooting with eight rebounds, and 10 assists to help Cleveland score a 113-108 win in Mile High City. James also had that many points when the Cavs lost to the Clippers at home way back on Nov. 17. Kevin Love scored 25 points in that contest, but he won’t be available in the rematch with the Clippers due to a hand injury. Also out for Cleveland is Tristan Thompson, who is expected to miss at least two weeks because of an ankle issue. For the meantime, the Cavs will rely on Larry Nance Jr. to handle the starting center duties. Nance had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the Denver game.

The Cavs are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 road games against the Clippers.

The Clippers are supposed to be tanking, but that’s apparently not what they are doing. With Lou Williams, Tobias Harris, and Austin Rivers making tremendous efforts each game, the team has managed to sneak into the playoff picture. Currently eighth in the Western Conference, the Clippers have won four of their last six games. They are coming off a 121-116 home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, and are eager to bounce back this Friday. Williams leads the team with 23.2 points per game, while Harris is scoring 19.6 points per game. Rivers is chipping in 15.6 a night. The Clippers are surprisingly one of the best shooting team so far this second half, as they have made 50.6 percent of their shots since the All-Star break while scoring 119.4 points per game.

The over is 3-0 in the Clippers’ last three home games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Cleveland wins, 112-105.
