Betting on the Cleveland Cavaliers (-7)
The Cleveland Cavaliers stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a thrilling 112-108 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Kyrie Irving scored 19 of his 38 points in the final quarter to lead the Cavaliers to their fourth straight win here in the City of Brotherly Love. With the victory, the Cavs improved their record to 13-2 (tops in the Eastern Conference).
Key to the Cavs’ resurgence has been their outstanding offense. The Cavs have scored over 104 points in each of their last four games. That sizzling offense was in full display Sunday against the Sixers where four of their starters scored in double-figures. Cleveland’s Big Three ran riot against the Philly defense with LeBron James, Kevin Love and Irving combining for 90 huge points. Thanks to the inspired play of this trio, the Cavs are averaging a whopping 112.0 points per game this campaign. Only the Golden State Warriors have a higher scoring average this season.
The Cavs will look to keep the momentum going when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks later tonight. The Cavs will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Bucks of late. The defending NBA champions have won five of their last six meetings with the Bucks, including three of the last four in Milwaukee. The Cavaliers have shot 49 percent from the field during that six-game stretch, averaging 109 points and a margin of victory of 12.2 points per contest.
The Cavs are 2-3 ATS on the road this season.
Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (+7)
It’s going to be an emotional night for Matthew Dellavedova who will face his former team for the very first time. The Australian guard spent his first three NBA seasons in a Cleveland uniform before signing a huge $38 million deal with Milwaukee this past summer. It’s turning out to be money well spent for the Bucks with Dellavedova averaging 7.9 points per game this season. He has settled in quite nicely as the team’s starting point guard, shooting at a high 34 percent clip from beyond the arc.
The Bucks are coming off a huge 104-96 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday. It was a morale-boosting victory for the Bucks who are just 3-6 over their last nine games. For the Bucks to make it back-to-back wins tonight, they will need to get another huge performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo. He scored 18 points and grabbed nine boards in the win against Orlando. The Greek Freak is averaging 24.5 points, 7.8 assists and 7.3 rebounds in his last four games for Milwaukee.
The Bucks are 4-5 ATS at home this season.
