Betting on the Denver Nuggets (+3.5)

Regular Season Record: 53-29

The Nuggets will be going in for the kill this Monday. After three games, Nikola Jokic and company have made a pretty strong case for why they are the best team remaining in the contention for the NBA title this season. Jokic and Jamal Murray have been a fantastic duo in the series against the Lakers, who simply have no answer. Jokic is averaging a triple-double in the series, scoring 27.0 points, grabbing 14.7 rebounds, and dishing out 11.3 assists per game. Murray, on the other hand, is torching the Lakers for 35.0 points on 52.1 percent shooting from the field.

The Nuggets are 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 games versus a team with a winning record.

Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers (-3.5)

Regular Season Record: 43-39

The Lakers are hanging by a thread – but at least they are still not eliminated. Anthony Davis led Los Angeles in Game 3 with 28 points and 18 rebounds, while shooting 11/18 from the field. LeBron James and Austin Reaves each added 23 points. But the Lakers will have to do better on both ends of the floor to avoid getting swept. The Lakers might also have to tinker with their rotation after D’Angelo Russell scored just three points in Game 2. Dennis Schroder can get the start again in Game 4. The Lakers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven outings after scoring 100 points or more in the prior game.

Writer’s Prediction

The Nuggets win, 115-110.
