Betting on the Florida Gators (6-1 Overall / 4-1 Conference)
The Gators showed their ability to perform when their backs are against the wall last week, beating the Vanderbilt Commodores on the road, 37-27, despite being down by as many as 17 points at one point of the contest. Gators quarterback Feleipe Franks went 19-of-29 for 284 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception, while the pair of Lamical Perine and Jordan Scarlett came through with 121 and 113 rushing yards, respectively, while combining for two rushing scores. A win like that always teach both teams lessons and for the Gators, they got to learn how to take better care of the pigskin. They committed three turnovers against Vanderbilt, though, it’s a bit uncharacteristic of them. The Gators are eighth in the nation in turnovers plus-minus margin with a plus-1.0 mark. While Florida’s defense didn’t look stout in the Vanderbilt game, it still is 14th in the nation with 18.3 points allowed per game.
The Gators are 3-0 SU and 3-0 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (6-1 Overall / 4-1 Conference)
Speaking of resiliency amid pressure, the Bulldogs will see how much of that do they have in the tank this coming Saturday. The Bulldogs are coming off a 36-16 loss at the hands of No. 13 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. It was billed as Georgia’s toughest test to date and the Bulldogs failing that one leads to some questions. Among them is whether they can bounce back quickly. Another is whether they can recover their offense. Against the Tigers, Georgia offensive production was way off their season average of 38.0 points per game. Still, the Bulldogs are the same team that laid 41 points on No. 24 South Carolina and 41 on Vanderbilt, so their offense shouldn’t be sold short. Like Florida, the Gators need to fix their turnover issues after recording four errors against LSU.
The under is 3-0 in Georgia’s last three games at home.
