Betting on the Florida Gators (odds)

Record: 4-3 Overall / 1-3 Conference

Florida’s defense barely existed the last time the Gators played. In the loss to LSU, the Gators gave up a total of 528 yards. If there is one game where Florida has to play its best on both ends of the field, it’s got to be in this matchup versus the high-powered Georgia team. Even though they have lost three conference games this season, the Gators were not totally outclassed in any of those contests. With a talented dual-threat quarterback in Anthony Richardson, who is second on the team with 395 rushing yards and six rushing scores, Florida can’t be taken lightly. In fact, the Gators are 25th nationally with 201.8 rushing yards per game.

Florida is 4-4 against the spread in its last eight games versus Georgia.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (odds)

Record: 7-0 Overall / 4-0 Conference

Georgia is scary. The Bulldogs showed no mercy at all on the Commodores, dominating Vanderbilt offensively and defensively. Stetson Bennett passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns without an interception on 24/30 completions. Georgia also rushed for three touchdowns, all while not allowing Vanderbilt to even put a score on the board. On the season, Georgia is third in the nation with 43.2 points per game and second overall in scoring defense with just 10.7 points allowed per outing. There is plenty of reasons why Georgia is ranked No. 1 in the nation this season, and those numbers are just some of them. The Bulldogs’ defense, in particular, has been so good at taking away hopes from their opponents. For one, the Bulldogs have five games in which they did not allow the other team to score more than 10 points, and that includes their 49-3 win against the then-No. 11 Oregon Ducks back in September.

Georgia is 2-0 against the spread in its last two games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Georgia wins, 37-13.
