Betting on the Florida State Seminoles – March Madness 2018
The Seminoles don’t have a divine figure by their side, but like Loyola-Chicago, Florida State is a 9-seed that is going to play in the Elite Eight round after blasting Gonzaga out of the tournament with a 75-60 win in the Sweet 16 round. Florida’s defense suffocated the Bulldogs, who shot just 33.9 percent from the field, including a 5-for-20 line from behind the arc. The Noles also got eight steals and forced Gonzaga into committing 13 turnovers. An 11-man rotation for the Seminoles assured that they would be able to keep their intensity up throughout the game, and we should expect nothing less from this group this Saturday. The key for Florida State is wining the rebounding battle and dictating the pace of the game, as the Wolverines like to slow the game down to a crawl. Florida State finished the regular season 50th in the nation in rebounds and 45th in field goal attempts per game.
Betting on the Michigan Wolverines – March Madness 2018
The Wolverines parlayed their miraculous buzzer-beating win over Houston in the second round by destroying Texas A&M on Thursday, 99-72. Michigan went crazy from downtown, hitting 14 of their 24 attempts. They were red-hot on offense overall, shooting 61.9 percent from the field with Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman and Moritz Wagner providing most of the fireworks for Michigan with 24 and 21 points, respectively. The Wolverines are unlikely to score this many points again, especially against Florida State’s defense, as Michigan averaged only 73 points in the regular season. That said, Moritz Wagner is a terrific talent and a walking mismatch because of his size and range. Then there’s also Michigan’s defense that is third on KenPom and allowed only 63.1 points per game back in the regular season.
Writer’s Prediction
Michigan earns a Final Four spot with a 73-71 win.
