FAVORITES
Kyle Larson (+900)
A broken valve spring ended Larson’s night at Phoenix Raceway, as he settled for 34th place Sunday. He can regroup and come back stronger this coming weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he’s had some good performances in the past. While he’s winless there in eight career starts, Larson has a pair of top 5s and four top 10s, and an average finish of 12.88 in Hampton. Despite his failure to score a win in the desert last Sunday, Larson remains among the top drivers to watch out in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Ryan Blaney (+1000)
Blaney got back up from a bad outing in Las Vegas by finishing fourth at the Ruoff Mortgage 500 last Sunday. That’s his second top-five showing in four starts this year, as he also finished fourth at the Daytona 500. As for his resume at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, it’s an impressive one, as it features three top 5s in seven starts. That includes his win there at the 2021 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
Chase Elliott (+1200)
Elliott already has two top 10s this season. He finished 10th at Daytona then was ninth at the Pennzoil 400. He wasn’t too shabby either over the weekend, as he placed 11th at the Ruoff Mortgage 500. His only bad start to date this season was at the Wise Power 400 at Auto Club Speedway where he settled for 26th place late last February. Elliott has yet to win at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, but he’s come close multiple times before. He has five top 10s and a top 5 in seven career starts in Hampton.
SLEEPERS
Chris Buescher (+5000)
Buescher just had his first top-10 finish of the year when he placed 10th last Sunday at the Ruoff Mortgage 500. Prior to that, his best finish this season was a 16th at Daytona 500. Buescher could be starting to figure out the Atlanta Motor Speedway after failing to crack the top 20 in each of his first three career starts there. Since then. He has had twp top 10s in four appearances at the said track.
Cole Custer (+6000)
Custer has finished all three career races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and has cracked the top 20 in all of them. In his most recent race, Custer finsihed 16th at the Ruoff Mortgage 500.
LONG SHOT
Cody Ware (+25000)
Ware is coming off a 31st-place finish at the Ruoff Mortgage 500 last Sunday. He has yet to finish better than 26th in any of his past three races, though he was 17th at the 2022 Daytona 500.
Writer’s Prediction
Ryan Blaney wins the 2022 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
