Jimmie Johnson (odds)

Johnson has a deep well of experience racing at Talladega Speedway. In 36 career appearances at the trace, the legendary driver has two wins, a total of seven top 5s, and 13 top 10s. However, his last two starts there haven’t been great, finishing just 33rd and 38th in two starts at Talladega Speedway in 2019. Nevertheless, Johnson has been one of the more consistent drivers of late. He has cracked the top 16 in all of his past four races, including three top 10s. The sportsbook currently prices Johnson at +1200 to win this season’s NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Clint Bowyer (odds)

If you believe in trends, then Bowyer is one driver to keep a close eye on. Bowyer, whose best finish this season was runner-up performance at the Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500, has performed better in each of his last three starts. After placing 20th at Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 and Dixie Vodka 400, respectively. On top of that, Bowyer has two wins and seven top 5s in 28 starts at Talladega Speedway. Moreover, Bowyer has an average finish of 16.32 there. The sportsbook currently lists Bowyer at +4000 to win this season’s NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Ryan Preece (odds)

Preece is only 29th in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series standings and he’s not cleared the top-20 in any of his last three starts. Even more upsetting to the Preece clan, is that Vegas lists him at the bottom of the track with +80,000 odds to win this season’s Championship. But in his two starts so far in his career at Talladega Speedway, Preece has performed a whole lot better that the numbers indicate.  In his first race there at the 2019 GEICO 500, Preece finished third. Months later, he cracked the top 20 with an 18th-place finish at the 2019 1000Bulbs.com 500.
